Peter Hill, a former Evans Scholar passed away in January 2011 after a long, courageous battle with bladder cancer. He was an east-side boy who grew up playing golf and hockey, but broke the mold with his good looks and charm.

His killer smile will forever
be his trademark.

Peter caddied at Hillcrest Country Club and graduated from St. Paul’s Johnson High School in 1986. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1990 with a degree in advertising and graphic design. He worked for a few years as a graphic designer at Minneapolis design firms, but his entrepreneurial spirit kicked in early, prompting him to found his own design and marketing business at the age of 25. This eventually became Peter Hill Design, which still thrives today with offices in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. He and his talented team produced a number of award-winning designs.

Peter loved being active: playing golf, biking around the lakes, walking to work, skiing, and working out. Peter was a one-of-a-kind individual who touched the hearts of so many and was always a big supporter of the Evans Scholarship Foundation. As Peter knew his time was ending he asked that any memorials on his behalf be directed to the Evans Scholars Foundation. This golf tournament is a great way to honor his wish.
